CfRN

Coalition for Rainforest Nations. A voluntary group consisting mainly of developing nations with rainforests, that addresses issues around environmental sustainability specific to tropical rainforests. It aims at enhancing stewardship of the world's remaining tropical rainforests, biodiversity conservation and climate stability by reversing the continuing destruction of tropical rainforests. It functions as an intergovernmental organization, providing a forum for consensus-seeking among the participating countries on matters related to rainforest management, biodiversity conservation and climate stability. Countries participate on a voluntarily basis mainly through joint negotiating positions, workshops and collaborative programs.
