Structured expert dialogue. A process conducted over the period 2013-2015, established in 2012 by the COP, reviewing the adequacy of and progress made on the agreed long term goal of holding global warming below 2°C (see LTGG). SED was established to support the work of a Joint Contact Group of SBSTA and SBI and to ensure scientific integrity of the review through a focused exchange of views, information and ideas. The SED provided for open and substantive discussions betweeen Parties to the UNFCCC on the scientific knowledge relevant to the review through workshops and expert meetings. It also assisted in the preparation of a synthesis report on the LTGG review, and held four sessions in total.
