UNCCD

United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification. Established in 1994. The only legally binding international agreement linking environment and development to sustainable land management. UNCCD focuses on drylands, and its 195 Parties aim at reversing and preventing land degradation/desertification, and mitigate the effects of drought in affected areas to support poverty reduction and environmental sustainability.
